Although North East Lincolnshire Council  acknowledges that this is a Site of Nature Conservation, it this week deemed that no environmental impact assessment is required. Sadly that  paves the way for it to be cleared in favour of probably industrial development. NELC's ecology officer says there will be "no biodiversity loss". I'm not sure how she comes to that conclusion, but the planning case officer has been persuaded.

It will be sad if this 'mini nature reserve' makes way for development. It's the only place in North East Linconshire where I have seen a green woodpecker.
