Firstly, Chris does a tremendous job circulating Sightings on a daily basis.  It may well be extracting them from the Forum is not viable for him which I understand.  If your sightings are circulated on Twitter or similar Social Media then they will be put on Sightings.  I agree with John - a bird such as Savi's Warbler is well worth recording on the sightings but a small minority do not use Social Media.  I wonder if Chris has a moment to respond to this query?

I've just looked at the Latest News that Chris puts up for anyone to see member or not.

I have looked at July sightings on Latest News and notice that MSQ were mentioned on the 13th, 20th, 21st & 22nd but nothing since and there has been decent sightings including Arctic Tern - 3 and a Savi's Warbler to name but two damn good spots but neither have got a mention which seems very odd.

I've taken notice that Boutham on the 18th was noted to have a Common Sandpiper which isn't anything great unless of course they never get one. On the 25th at Gibralter Point it was seen to have one Little Egret, one Little Grebe, one Kestrel and one Common Tern why on earth were these even given a mention.

On the 24th, 26th & 28th Boultham had GW Egret each day with two on the 28th, on 26th four Little Egret and on 28th three, on 26th a Kingfisher, 4 Lapwing and 15 Swallow. On 28th two Grey Heron also seen.

From looking at MSQ sightings this week their sightings should have appeared at least twice!

From a personal POV its extremely rare I get a mention, granted this year I've only been out a few times but I had two Barn Owl, four Kestrel, two Buzzard on same evening but no mention. Another day I had Hobby, two Little Egret, one Grey Heron and lots of others but no mention.

I realise Chris has a difficult job and has to decide what appears and what doesn't but it seems lopsided. Is Boutham more important than MSQ?

Considering the club has just reached its 600th member it still appears that only 2% of the members post anything on the forum which is a shame. But that's life!

We've had this argument umpteen times about sightings.

Hope others join the fun including some of the admin team.

Strange how on latest sightings MSQ is again overlooked. Is it worth the effort of reporting birds or is it that the reports are not believed. I have been birding for over 50 years and others who go there have similar amount of years experience.
