Blimey didn't realise they were at MSQ, thanks for info Alan.  Not sure I can walk that far without extreme pain in feet. Will have to hatch a plan.

Good numbers of Purple Hairstreak at MSQ. From car park follow main track straight along ( not through big wood ) then when you get to the small wooded area near the old tool shed turn right as soon as you come out and go to the bench on the right. Sit there and look at the oak tree at the side of it and that is where they are.

Can anyone suggest places I can visit to see any of the above not to far away from my hometown of Scunny?
I have never seen a Hairstreak. I have only ever seen one Fritillary and that was a Small Pearl-bordered in Scotland years ago.
I just read JW's haul at Chambers Wood which included some of the two families I want. I had hoped to have some short time hols near places like Chambers this year but doubt it happen. So I am gathering info hopefully from club members and online sources to plan hols for next year all being well. If the places anyone suggest is anywhere in Lincs that's okay cos I'll arrange to go there for a few days next year.

Any info appreciated.

John
