Lincolnshire Bird Club's debut at Global Birdfair at Rutland Showground, near Oakham, has been a bumper success.

Over the first two days of the three-day event, our stand has attracted numerous visitors, many of whom had previously been totally unaware of Lincolnshire's merits as a birding destination.

Pictured (from left) are LBC members Chris Grimshaw, Phil Espin, Andy Sims and Bill Sterling.

The club has partnered in the birdfair venture with  VisitLincolnshire.com who used the event to launch the county's coastal bird trail which can be viewed on their website.

Phil also gave a talk on Lincolnshire birds at 1pm today. It was attended by some 80 visitors to the fair.

The only other UK county bird club represented was the Leicestershire and Rutland Ornithological Society.
