Interesting read as usual!

This is my first visit on forum for 15 days not because I wasn't interested what was on but mainly because I was waiting till I'd got sightings to report.

Since getting out of hospital end of December I've been advised to refrain from driving for six months due to a seizure I had (thankfully not had any since) while an in-patient so am not able to get out and about which just lately has been very annoying with the better weather we are now having. If I'd been going out I would have been putting sightings on HERE at least once a week. I refuse point blank to use public transport due to the Covid rate being very high so I am stuck at home, and now the feral pigs have put paid to me watching assorted birds etc in back garden bar one or two (report in a mo) it's taken away my enjoyment!! They want eradicating they are a utter pest!!

I don't post on Twitter just can't be arsed it's not for me!  I do look at the Twitter sightings on our Homepage and then view the Latest Sightings that CG does. I still have a Twitter a/c but not been on it for years. I along with quite a few LBC members do look at the Lincs Birding page on Facebook and sometimes contribute to it.

As soon as I get back driving fingers crossed after finding out EEG results in mid June I'll start posting again.

If the forum does close down lets hope am not alive to see it as I will be deeply upset!

Regards

John aka Max

Hi Stuart, a good example of why the forum is not obsolete happened only this week. Ged posted his sighting of the Black-Necked Grebe on the forum and I went immediately to Covenham and saw it. Like we discussed  in the 'North East Lincs bias' debate we had earlier in the year, it works for those of us who use it and Twitter works for those who use that. I don't see a problem either way.

Regards Pete

I too only found out about the Covenham Grebe via this forum. I very rarely keep my phone on during a birding trip, so Twitter wouldn't be any use for me. I look at the forum most nights, and also the Twitter 'posts' on the home page.

Agreed Pete,
i also assume records on the forum are reviewed, and those of interest are entered into the annual county bird report ?

regards John
