Given carbon footprint concerns, this is emphatically  not an endorsement but  Eastern Airways has announced that it  is to start serving Cornwall Airport Newquay from Humberside Airport.

The new service, commencing on Friday April 1st, will operate twice weekly each way on a Monday and Friday.

They says: "The flight schedule has been designed to provide maximum opportunity for long weekend stays, weekly commuting and those who also wish to visit friends or family, avoiding the otherwise seven hour drive or eight hour rail journey between the regions.

"Fares on the route starting from £74.99 one-way, including a complimentary 15kg hold bag and all taxes and charges."

"The service departs Humberside at 11:10 am on both Mondays and Fridays, with a return service leaving Cornwall Newquay at 1.05 pm, with a flight time of a little over an hour each way.
