A teen who drove a van at feral grey lag geese, killing one and injuring five others, has been fined more than £1,000 by Grimsby magistrates.
The incident happened at Cleethorpes Boating Lake in October last year.
At first, the police were disinclined to prosecute after the 18-year-old said he would make a payment to the  wildlife welfare charity that went to the aid of the stricken birds.
But this sparked an outrage among animal lovers, prompting a change-of-heart by police.
