Thanking you Stuart I have made Aaron aware of your message. Aaron is studying at the other Uni, Bishop Grosseteste University, but should be able to make contact no problem via the Swan program.
Thanks again Edwin & Aaron

Dr Jenny Dunn is a Senior Lecturer at the University and she is also is a ringing trainer - she may be able to provide some contacts for Aaron.

Thanks for the reply Jim and as you say youngsters of his own age would be good but he is well used to 'Birding' in the company of older watchers, let's face it the majority of Birders are comprised of the older age group.
I am an old Dad, 75 against his 18 years, and along with his sister 20 and youngest brother 15 we take every opportunity to get out as a family group whether locally at weekends or during the school holidays when we have been exploring Snowdonia, Cumbria, Inner and outer Hebrides and Scotland for several years. Covid put an end to our most northerly trips sadly. Uni has since hampered our frequent outings greatly.
So he would basically appreciate anyones company birdwatching, he really is totally obsorbed in Ornithology & I think is set to become a life long Birdwatcher like his Dad.
Appreciated Jim and All ....Regards Edwin

Thanks for your post, Edwin - and a big thank you to Aaron for joining the Lincs Bird Club.
The more young members, the better. And bringing an out-of-county perspective is an added bonus.
Unfortunately, unlike the Lincs Wildlife Trust, we don't have a recent track record of group meetings/ outings etc. but we recently appointed an events organiser, so things should pick up, especially when Covid goes into decline.
Ideally, Aaron would probably like a few birding pals of his own age. I'm not sure how many, if any, we have in the Lincoln area, but I'll make some inquiries.
Does the university not have a birding club?

Hi All,
My Son Aaron has recently started at Lincoln Uni and newly moved there from N London. He is an extremely keen and inspired Bird watcher (Read as fanaticial) a new member of LBC but having no transport and knowing no-one local he is finding it difficult getting around in particular on his meagre grant.
If there is anyone out there keen for a little company or any organised groups that might be able to help him get about he and I would be extemely grateful and willing to share costs. He is polite, a long way from home, a little shy, but really good company out in the field and not at all afraid of a long flog.
Thanks in Advance
