Intimidated by 'Lancaster Bombers'?

Song thrushes are relatively scarce birds in much of North-east Lincolnshire so I was pleased to see this one foraging in Haverstoe Park, Cleethorpes.

As I was watching, I was joined by a dog-walker who attributed the decline to intimidation by increasing numbers of 'Lancaster Bomber birds'.

Has anyone else heard this term to describe woodpigeons?
