In todays Telegraph it now states that the police will be reviewing the incident.
I imagine after the backlash the Humberside police force has had regarding their inaction, that they have now decided to act.
Their Facebook page articles were inundated with comments, chiefly along the lines of how useless, inactive and what an utter act of neglect toward a criminal offence they were portraying. Especially as they didn't have to do any work! The perp handed himself in and admitted it!!

It will be interesting to see how they now follow it up.
I am also surprised how this act and the police's inactivity to prosecute never made the national news media.
