A three-week programme to remove  a large expanse of sea buckthorn from Cleethorpes sand dunes is due to start in early-December. The aim is to encourage re-colonisation by specialist flowers, insects and other wildlife that have been lost to the spread of buckthorn, a notoriously invasive species. The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Natural England and North East Lincolnshire Council are all on board with the project.
