One day there will come a day when I or we can no longer get out so what better than to look back at the log books of yesteryear and remember lots of happy days either sweating cobs or freezing our nick nacks off or just enjoying the day/s! Hopefully that day is many years away!

I've just got me log book out looking for the day I joined you, Rob and Colin Smale at Grainthorpe, it was March 2nd 2013, I remember we had a good laugh and also saw a distant Merlin which I was looking at other day :)

Pleased you enjoy my ramblings lol hope you liked the ramblings about the Bramblings lol.

Is it coincidence that all the best places we visit are covered in damn great pot holes or severely cambered! Bonby is getting that way and one of my fave places Cadney PS is terrible this year, won't be going till it's been mended. There is one place near me that usually has massive potholes etc but it never puts me off, either am an idiot or glutton for punishment! But have not been for a few year and now colder weather is here the butterflies won't be.

Hoping to get to the coast before year out, now am getting back behind wheel again.

Take care and keep well!

Hi Neil,

Yes that's the reason I like going no disturbances and well away from roads. On Dec 3rd 2004 my first visit was with my mates Eddie & Dave to see some rarity but missed it so I decided to drive down to pumping station, that was a massive mistake, at time I had a VW lupo in yellow. When I turned onto the long straight track it was too late to turn round, the track was very wet mud up to half way on the wheels :( I had to go all way to turn round! Of course I had to go back in it to get home lol once on the roads the mud was coming off for miles. On arriving home I got the hosepipe on and it took an hour to clear the mud from wheel arches etc. Swore I wouldn't go again but did thankfully it was never in that state again!

I used to visit Grainthorpe Haven regularly, especially with my mate Rob Hardy, because of its seclusion as much as the great views over the marsh and the fields behind.
Always a chance of shorties and various other raptors. I no longer go there because of the state of the road leading to it. Potholes like bomb craters! I am pretty sure it was
there where I last saw you. Not so many years ago either. Always enjoy reading your ramblings on here  Best wishes and good health

Yes not sure where the S came from lol . Remember him posting on the old forum long before twitter, he often posted from Grainthorpe Haven as did Terry Whalin but never see anyone post from there of late. I always enjoyed going there especially for owls.
