Last week I was contacted by the executor of Ron Hallam of Skellingthorpe Lincoln. Ron, a keen bird photographer died 5 years ago aged around 83 years. His executor wanted to pass on to LBC a collection of black and white bird photos primarily of breeding species taken at the nest. I collected them today and have had a quick look through them. There are some very fine photos indeed, many taken in the Skellingthorpe, Doddington area in the 50s and 60s. He was clearly fond of grey heron! The photos are of such quality that you could frame them and put them straight on your wall.

Most of the prints are from the 50s and 60s and there are albums from Sutherland, Orkney and Shetland.

The question is what to do with them and I would welcome suggestions, particularly from anyone who knew Ron. If you did know him, perhaps you could recount some memories below.

If you would like to see the photos I will bring them to the AGM. If anyone is especially keen they can email me on pmjespin@gmail.com and arrange to come and see them at my house.
