A steel sculpture of a globe - part-sponsored by Lincolnshire Bird Club - was today unveiled on North Promenade in Cleethorpes.

The aim of the artwork is to highlight the importance both of the resort and of the wider Humber Estuary as a feeding and roosting habitat for shorebirds.

LBC chipped in with £100 towards the £18,000 cost of the project.

Credit to North East Lincolnshire Council for getting behind this project - hopefully a forerunner of more to come. The authority, incidentally, was very pleased to have the support of LBC.

A further report is due to appear in The Heron - our monthly newsletter.
