Despite objections from villagers, it is likely that the go-ahead will be given to a 14-home development on a meadow in Humberston, near Cleethorpes.

However an opportunity has arisen for the Lincs Bird Club to come up with ideas to make the site as bird-friendly as possible.

If the project was from a private housebuilder, any input from the LBC would most likely be disregarded.

However, this initiative comes from North East Lincolnshire Council which is more likely to be aware of its responsibilities to safeguard/enhance wildlife. But a bit of guidance probably wouldn't go amiss/

If anyone has any suggestions/proposals/ideas for habitat enhancements , please submit them via this thread and I will collate them for forwarding to the NELC planning case officer.

There is a really good opportunity here for the council, inspired by the LBC, to set an example of good practice both to other local authorities and to the private sector.

Any suggestions please by close of play on December 5.

Attached are pictures of the site and the proposed layout/style of the properties.
