The Lincolnshire Bird Club has secured an arrangement with a publishing company whose latest title is The Ring Ouzel which has enjoyed excellent reviews from Mark Avery, The Fat Birder and others.
A feature of the study is that it explores the pressures and problems faced by the species both on passage and in its wintering areas in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
The importance of Britain as a stop-over and refuelling area for birds on passage in spring and autumn is also assessed, and there is an intriguing description of early attempts to track ring ouzels on migration from Scotland to North Africa and back.
