The National Trust's plans to convert the former Sandilands golf course to a wetlands/ dunes nature reserve are proceeding as well as can be expected.

According to the NT, budgetary constraints/ covid have hindered progress (there are no design plans as yet) but hydrogeological surveys are underway and grants are being sought with the hope of starting groundworks "later in 2021".

Is there a role for LBC? Yes. In due course, the NT The would greatly welcome more records and hopes the club might be able to register and collate them.

The NT is interested to see what species use an abandoned golf course before its transformation into dunes and wetland.
