Funding from Whitehall is to be sought by East Lindsey District Council for the coastal 'observatory' proposed for Sutton-on-Sea. If it goes ahead, it will be an amenity building for everyone, but likely to have a special attraction for birders - a decent place to watch, for instance, autumn passage of skuas, shearwaters and terns or winter thrushes coming in off the sea in October. Perhaps the club could mount an occasional stand.

With the former Sandilands golf course earmarked for conversion to a nature reserve, things are certainly looking up for this stretch of the Lincolnshire Coast.
