He still seems intent on turning the reserve into a well kept park, lots of the good bushes and plant growth have been removed just to make wider pathways.Little or o chance of any cover being put on the tern raft.

Alan,

In the past if I had any grievances and I had quite a few, I went straight to the top and emailed Dave Bromwich, he always told me "he looked forward to my emails" because I never minced my words. I obviously wont repeat what we discussed or the outcome, but he always looked in to any matter I raised and mailed me with different info, I didn't always agree but at least I'd been given answers. So I think you should email him.

I rarely go out anywhere now be it birding or recreation, I cannot remember the last time I went to MSQ or any other LWT reserve (it would be my log book though) and my subs are due but not sure if I'll renew, I didn't last year, but the only reason why is that I rarely go anywhere other than BB and have not been there since feb 19th when the Whoopers were there.

I've not met the new warden and have no idea who he is, and by the sounds of it I'd prefer not to because I don't want to get arguing and make myself ill.

Why don't you get a petition up and get as many members of LWT to sign it and present to Dave Bromwich, if you all decided not to renew your subs am sure it wouldn't go down to well. I wonder what the twitching brigade think of the going on at the reserve, surely they don't agree!

Contact the media and get the local newspaper and television involved, they like current news.

Good luck!

Regards

Max

It’s unfortunate that no one from the LWT has (yet) responded. They’re the experts so there must be some purpose to what’s been happening.

A s I said before, a bit of communication wouldn’t go amiss, but I’m not sure if anyone at the trust checks this forum.

It is hard to believe that the warden as now removed a fallen tree and other logs which were at the entrance to the walk onto the reserve pathway. These have been there for as many years as I can remember and were used as a general feeding area for many species including Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal Tits and many more. They were not an obstruction as they were clear of the actual path. It is just further destruction of habitat for no good reason. I am sure if he could he would concrete over the entire reserve so no wildlife could use it. The sooner he moves on the better !!!
