One would have expected new licences to be available before removing the old and some consultation prior to
any changes .

I agree, Alan. I believe farmers should, at the least, have been given time to prepare for the change.

In practice, I doubt if there will be much enforcement - any more than there is with cyclists riding without lights after dark.

Anyone else realised that from tomorrow there is an immediate end to 3 general licences which stop the shooting of 16 species including pigeons, crows , canada geese etc.This is through Natural England who now have to set up a new system after pressure from Chris Packham. While I deplore shooting for so called fun I have spoken to a couple of farmers I know who are wildlife friendly farmers and are very worried about the effect on their crops which may now get destroyed. This measure was brought in under the radar and caught them all unaware.
