Ferruginous Hawk

A dead Ferruginous Hawk was found near Caenby Corner on about 2nd May 2019, and passed to me a week or so later. It carried a closed ring, from which I established that it originated from the Cotswold Falconery Centre. The centre told me that it was bred by them in 2013, but they did not know where it had gone as their pre-2015 records had been lost because of a computer virus. The lack of jesses etc suggests that it had been lost or released from an aviary rather than from a falconer. They will let me know if they can find out more.

I've not attempted to ask local wildlife parks etc if they have lost one.
