A Northern Herring Gull black JLH87 was spotted on Mablethorpe. beach by Dean Nicholson on 3rd January. This was ringed as a chick on Rost, a small island in north-west Norway, on 22nd. June 2024. This is the first sighting since being ringed and has traveled 1,698 miles to get here.

A Common Gull, white JJ610, was on Mabo beach on 4th Jan. It was ringed as a 2cy near Stavanger, Norway on 17th March 2011 meaning he's 17 years old. It's been recorded regularly since it was ringed but rather oddly this was the first sighting outside Norway!
