Hi Nick, 

Many thanks for the report and excellent photo of the colour-ringed Osprey at Toft Newton Reservoir. 

Blue/white LL5 is an adult female Osprey that was ringed at a nest near Peebles by Dave Anderson on 14/7/18. It was one of a brood of two and its BTO ring number is 1474700. 

Interestingly this bird was seen at Atterby in Lincolnshire on 20/7/20 on its first summer back in the UK - so it has returned to an area it knows on its southerly migration. This summer it has been seen at a nest near the River Dee in Galloway, southern Scotland.
