Idle Washlands was created by John T Goy
Made first trip to this part of the washlands after receiving info about it, certainly no shortage of birds and water. Quite a few birders there mostly after the Pratincole I expect which we certainly wasn't. A local said a female Golden Oriole had been seen, we didn't see it but it is a vast area to cover.

It was cloudy day to start and then the sun came out, with a breeze off the water.
I had a life tick with the Great White Egret.
We had 35 specie of birds with the highlights being a Kingfisher, Little Grebe juv, Curlew Sand, Greenshank and White Wag + juv.
We also had damselfly, dragonflies and butterflies.

Enjoyed a change of scenery in a different county, will certainly go again.

Kind regards
Max :)
