On the old forum there was a Non-Lincs section but can't find one on here, so putting it on this section, it's near enough the border.

Bitterly cold with a biting wind at Blacktoft!, on way there had two Kestrel at Amcotts and one just before Blacktoft. Quite a few there.
We only went to two hides and that was more than enough for me! We had 26 species and the highlights were Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, Tree Sparrow, Wigeon, Shoveler, Golden Plover, Godwit, Fieldfare and Mistle Thrush. We couldn't wait to get to the warmth of car. Next time we won't leave the car, we saw the Mistle - 3, Robin - 2, Fieldfare - c60, Dunnock, Blackbird, Magpie, Tree Sparrow, Woodie, Reed Bunting, Lapwing while sat at car park and that would have been good enough for us plus we wouldn;t have got frozen! As we went through Ousefleet we spotted a male Stonechat.

We decided to drive round the Isle of Ax' and take in Wroot hoping the whoopers were there, they weren't! On way back we went through and around numerous villages only to see zilch, a waste of time, petrol and money. All we saw was a pheasant and a few wood pigeons and corvids. Will be a long long time before going that way again, much prefer my side of the Trent where we spotted a Cormorant lol.

Regards

JTG
