It and virtually everything else kept their heads down in that awful wind today. One small consolation for braving the elements was to be able to view the unusual nacreous cloud over the hall!

So pleased it has been seen by other LBC members, I've also seen the fabulous photos of it posted on X/Twitter.. I have been down there most days, as I usually do, but not been lucky enough to get a second sighting. Glad it's hanging around after all, and fingers crossed I see it again before too long.

The bird has since been several times by LBC members, so well done to Alison for putting out the word - and putting it  out first on the LBC forum.

I had a look on Monday and again on Thursday with Andy Sims after going for the Gainsborough Waxwings - but alas with no luck

Couldn't believe my eyes, but it was unmistakeably the shrike. I go bird watching most days although I've never posted any sightings on here before, but this one was special! Will revisit tomorrow to see if there is any sign of it still being there.
