Good news for the hawk - bad news for sparrows (and collared doves)! Asda staff opened a fire door and the bird flew out.

No I meant cannon net which can be fired over the bird, they were in regular use for waders

I think you mean mist net, Alan. In the past I have been asked to try to catch birds in buildings and release them but have yet to be successful. The problem is that they invariably stay in the highest part and cannot be enticed to fly low enough and out of the door. Sorry but can't be more helpful.

It needs someone with a cannon net , maybe an experienced falconer is also a possibility
