The turnstones on Cleethorpes beach are a confiding bunch, so I'm tempted to experiment.

In 2005 i had a Cattle Egret feeding out of the hand a few times. It had found a good source of food at a burger bar in a posh hotel on the glorious island of St Lucia

This letter appeared in the July 1990 edition of British Birds.
I wonder if it would have worked with the confiding goosander that took up residence at Cleethorpes boating lake earlier in the year.
(Full disclosure: I did think of experimenting with a tin of sardines.)

My last sighting was Friday, March 4. Still a few pochard and tufted duck present today.
There was reported to have been a black swan at the country park lake on Friday. No sign of this morning.
