I’m seeing far fewer blackbirds in the garden this year compared to previous autumns. Only two or three at a time whereas it used to be up to 14 at a time. I thought this week’s easterlies might have brought in a few but not so far.

Oct 20th: male Sprawk back garden.
Nov 7th: Coal, Blue & Great Tit one of each, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Spugs, Blackbirds, Dunnock, Wood Pigeons, Collared Doves, Common Gulls and Jackdaws.
Nov 19th: In back garden spotted a Chaffinch with what looked like "white trousers" on, on closer inspection they looked like growths similar to what Greenfinches get, they covered the claws and legs up as far as its body. It was feeding on the ground, daresay it probably can't land on feeders. It was hopping as if it had lead boots on. Will keep an eye out for it.

Cheers
John

Aug 24th: Believe it or not 24 Spuggies fighting and eating a small fat ball on the ground!
Aug 26th: Blue Tit - 6 all on the nut feeder.

Sept 4th: Coal Tit on nut feeder, Goldfinch - 12 and lots of spuggies.
Sept 14th: Came home to find a load of Collared Dove feathers beneath the holly bush and beyond, obviously had a visit from the female Sprawk, wish I'd seen it.

Cheers
