Good day. I have just read the submissions on here about the ignoring of reports oh here
I can tell you as the compiler of the latest sightings sector that your records are not ignored unless they are posted with no location given. I spend a couple of hours a day churning through Facebook, Twitter, the Gib Point and Frampton Marsh logs and other posts to compile my list. I don't use BirdTrack as I have no daily access to its records but its records will go on to the Birdclub's master database before the Annual Report is compiled. The sources I use for my records are not used by some members on here
You have posted your records on the Forum and I don't really see the need to duplicate them in the latest news sector. I can do if required
I also comprise an Excel Spreadsheet from all records that are posted by members on the Forum. No area is ignores as you will see from the reproduction below. These records are already in the Master database

This master database will eventually comprise of over a third of a million records (I believe) and is used by the report writers for their offerings for the annual report. My monthly database can reach up to a thousand records.
When writing a report of a few lines many records will not get a mention despite the thickness of the report nowadays. Twenty-thirty years ago the species accounts only consisted of a few lines. Today when I write up the wood pigeon account I might ignore the fact that I had eight in my garden this morning but if I saw 3500 it might just get a mention but hopefully the fact that their is over 3000 individual records this year may also get a mention but then that depends on who does the species account
Yes keep sending in your records. Each one is important despite your misgivings

Alan,
Say Barton instead of MSQ that shud do the trick lol.
I wouldn't hold your breath in hoping your sightings appear in the yearly tome either unless you have more luck than I did on one occasion re Thoresway many years ago!
Either your hair is wrong color or you have upset someone shame cos I always enjoy your sightings along with many others, don't let them make you stop or you will have let them win!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan, please continue to post your reports. I do most of my birding on the Humber, but do make occasional visits to MSQ. I enjoy reading and appreciate the sightings that you post!

Jon

I suspect the reason is the monthly list is compiled from the @Lincsbirding Twitter feed and not the Lincs bird club web forum.
But all your reports will have been picked up for the Annual Report.

They never appear in the monthly report produced on here and this is the 3rd time I have asked why and keep given different reasons. I feel I am wasting my time as MSQ is obviously in a black hole. I do also put all my records on Birdtrack.

Alan,
Not sure why you think your records are being igniored?
If they are on here then i am sure someone is picking them up if location and numbers are given.
I couldn’t see a report for 14th February so perhaps it failed to submit rather than being ignored.
Edit: just seen your report for 14th so it is here.
