Also OS maps don't come cheap these days!  And daresay the GPS App is free. But I'll stick to my OS maps as I have a few and another App on me phone would mean more memory loss and the battery draining quicker. Swings & roundabouts come to mind.

Possibly someone with grid reference app on phone that records in degrees and minutes
It’s also international so foreign visitors would easily find the site ,as they are unlikely to have

Thanks John W. I now understand, but what is the advantage or preference? If it is for greater accuracy, then why not use OS map refs up to three or four decimal places?

I agree mate they need to stick with the OS maps easily read. They will be using the GPS ref expect.

The one above needs someone with a degree in quantum physics or whatever its called!
