Colour-ringed Peregrine on Bagmoor Floods, North Lincs

On September 13th 2025 Neil Drinkall was watching a Black Tern at Bagmoor Floods, North Lincs, when it was suddenly attacked by a juvenile Peregrine much to his chagrin. As the raptor gave up the chase it flew over him and he took a few shots but did not look closely at these until a few weeks later. Presumably the same juvenile was seen until at least September 17th.
With a few tweaks from Photoshop it was possible to see that the bird had a Red colour ring on its right leg. The images were sent to Jack Ashton Booth who recognised the scheme ringer and forwarded them to Craig Bell who kindly supplied the following information regarding the bird and some images, attached of it in the nest and after fledging.
Looking at the pics, it’s defo one of my CR but difficult to see the code but it must be 3L female ringed in Liverpool last May. Due to a mix of reasons, bird flu killing ads, weather not fit or safe for quarry /cliff access, and pairs just not there on sites, I only ringed 4 this season. Terrible considering I usually do 25-50 a year! And I’ve only used 1.2,3 and 4L so it’s defo 3L and metal BTO ring number is GE05631.
