Lanceolated Warbler - September 1996.

John Clarkson and Andy Sims had one of the experiences that keen birders dream about when they stumbled upon a Lanceolated Warbler at Rimac on September 22nd 1996.

This is only the second record of this species for the county. By another stroke of good fortune, Malcolm Parkinson was also at Rimac that day. Malcolm, former leader of the Grimsby R.S.P.B. members group, is a very able photographer and had his camera with him and got the all important shots.

The images that Malcolm obtained are the only ones in existence and are un-published. Although I did not see the bird, being at Spurn that day twitching another Lancy!, I bought a couple of slides from Malcolm who has kindly agreed to their use on the web site.
