Common Scoter The latest addition to the bird list at Water's Edge Barton was this first-summer drake Common Scoter present for about an hour August 8th 2002. Note the faded brown wing coverts and flight feathers as well as the brown tinges to the neck and uper tail coverts and the restricted yellow on the bill. This is the 21st species of duck to occur on the park and with the addition of four new species in the last week, Slavonian Grebe, Pied Flycatcher, Treecreeper and Common Scoter the Water's Edge list now stands at 163 species.
