Post subject:  Kirkby migrants 14/3

An early morning visit to Kirkby Moor produced my first Wheatear of the year with a female showing well feeding on the open turf. A Chiffchaff was also heard singing. A Jay, pair of Green Woodpeckers and a few pairs of displaying Meadow Pipits and Skylark were the only other birds of note.

A quick lunchtime visit to Ostlers Plantation produced a single Brambling, 2 Goldcrest, a Long tailed Tit, another singing Chiffchaff and a Buzzard overhead but little else.
