If you have read “Gathering Records” posted on the Forum on 18th September you will already know that we are aiming to close the 2009 LBC Database on 28th February 2010, so that a start can be made on the 2009 Bird Report in March 2010.

Should you have any records which you would like to be included on the LBC Database, that have not already been posted on the Forum, would you please send them to the County Recorder, Steve Keightley, steve.keightley@btinternet.com by the end of 2009 so that Colin and Sheila Jennings are not inundated with records at the end of February 2010.

A list of 2009 records that need a description, BUT do not have one will be posted on the forum in the next week, so please look out for this. To date we have already started the verification process for approx. 150 records. I hope that the majority of these can be verified in the next few months, making the production of the 2009 report a lot less painful!

The 2008 Bird Report is progressing well with the first draft expected by 15th November 2009, and with a final printing date sometime in December. We didn’t close the 2008 database until the end of July 2009, hence the delay in the production of the 2009 report. If we can get all the records for 2009 before the end of February, I would like to aim for a publication date for the 2009 report in September 2010.
