Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the LCCP?
2011 has seen the launch of the new Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park. This country park is different to the usual parks seen around of the country and instead of a fixed, bordered area, the Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park is a combination of nature reserves, sand dunes, beach and working farmland crossed by a network of footpaths. It is located between Chapel St Leonards and Sandilands on the coast and stretches inland to Huttoft and Mumby, in all, it covers approximately eight kilometres of coastline and up to 35 square kilometres of coastal hinterland.

LCCP Events
Through Heritage Lottery Funding a programme of events will see a host of community, wildlife and heritage days including guided walks, educational workshops, beach combing, story telling living history days - all free for you to enjoy! Details of the events programmed are on the LCCP website - click here.

Who are the LCCP BArn Owl Team?
The Barn Owl Team working on the LCCP project are Bob Sheppard, Alan Ball and Andrew Chick. Please use this email address to contact them - info@lincsbirdclub.co.uk

Barn Owls and the Law.
Barn Owls are listed on Schedule One of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended). Birds listed on this schedule enjoy all of the normal protection afforded to all British birds i.e. it is an offence to kill or injure our native birds, or damage or destroy their nest or eggs. Schedule One birds are further protected from disturbance whilst building their nest, incubating their eggs and rearing their young.

All members of the LCCP Barn Owl project team have Natural England issued Barn Owl licences.
