Wash Pelagics from Boston.
Following last years successful trips, three dates have been arranged for this September and October:
Saturday 4th September, depart 12 noon, return 2030 pm.
Saturday 18th September, depart 11 am, return 1930 pm.
Saturday 2nd October, depart 11 am, return 19.30 pm.
All trips depart Sluice Bridge Boston, on board the motor cruiser Mystere, full facilities on board. £25 per person.
Last year we saw many waders, the expected Terns, Skuas, and a few Manx Shearwaters, but also unexpected species such as Spoonbill and Osprey. We hope to cover the coast from Boston up to Chapel Point or, depending on the weather, look at the Witham/Welland/Nene Mouth areas. British Waterways Survey - http://www.waterscape.com/waterwaysguide/wildlife/
You'll find all sorts of wildlife on Britain's waterways - from common sights such as mallards and moorhens, to the more shy and retiring residents of the riverbank, like the otter and water vole. You can help waterway ecologists to care for the wildlife you see by reporting your sightings online at the British Waterways Website. All results will be carefully studied as part of the first-ever national waterway wildlife survey.
Records from Grantham Canal, Fosdyke, or Witham needed.
